It is useful for all\u00a0professionals who need basic but also specialised knowledge on school\u00a0bullying prevention\u00a0and\u00a0management.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bullying and its impact on communities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>School bullying and violence is a worldwide worrisome phenomenon that occurs within a broad\u00a0context, where it becomes very difficult for educators and pupils to control violent behaviour in\u00a0school environments. Violence in educational settings is a daily reality that deprives millions of\u00a0children and young people of their right to education and free expression of their identities\u00a0without any discrimination.\u00a0 According to an estimation by Plan International, 246 million\u00a0children and adolescents experience violence in and around school every year. Girls are\u00a0disproportionately affected compared to boys, as well as those children who do not conform to\u00a0prevailing societal norms. All children can be bullied, yet evidence shows that children who are\u00a0perceived to be \u201cdifferent\u201d in any way are more at risk. Key factors include physical appearance,\u00a0ethnic, linguistic or cultural background, including not conforming to sexual and gender norms\u00a0and stereotypes; social status and disability.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Develop your understanding of the dynamics of bullying and help your\u00a0<\/strong><strong>community<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This first e-learning course focuses on school\u00a0bullying prevention\u00a0and management, providing\u00a0effective skills for teachers mainly, but also for all professionals in any educational setting who\u00a0work with children, adolescents, and their families. It is part of the European education programme L.I.N.K. (Learning and Innovating through New Knowledge), a joint initiative of KMOP\u2019s Education Hub and COFACE Families Europe.
